Intake Specialist

Under direction, process energy assistance applications for Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP), Percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP), HEAP Summer & Winter Crisis, Fuel Fund, and Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP). Conduct eligibility, customer interviews; calculate income; verify utility accounts with appropriate energy suppliers, account status, work and income history, citizenship and additional resources/documentation, as applicable; prepare and submit necessary documentation for approval determination; issue notices of determination to customers; assist with education to general public of services available services and eligibility requirements; provides assistance to assigned supervisor; types and/or prepares various correspondence, collects data and prepares reports; files records and correspondence; receives and responds to phone calls; other related duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma or equivalent and six (6) months demonstrated office experience or equivalent combinations of training and experience; computer literacy; possession of valid State of Ohio Driver’s License and transportation; Position requires minimal local travel; Post employment physical and criminal background checks conducted

HIRE Rate

$14.52 per hour / $1,161.60 Bi-weekly & $15.02 per hour / $1,201.60 following successful completion of 6-month probation (Pay Level 6)

CLASSIFICATION

Regular, Full-time, Non-exempt
