Program Aide

JOB SUMMARY

Under direction, in accordance with established program standards, serve as a center and classroom aide to help ensure a safe, healthy, quality and compliant environment for children and families enrolled in Early Head Start and Head Start programs (children ages 6 weeks up to age 5). Responsibilities include: assist with general classroom needs (e.g. remove trash from classroom or eating areas; collect, clean and return laundry to classroom; sanitize classroom equipment); assist teaching staff in the classroom, on playground and/or while children are being transitioned to various spaces and activities; assist with communicating information to and from parents; assist with planning and implementing of parent meetings and promotion of parent involvement in activities; assist social and health services staff to collect information and data entry into computer system; assist kitchen staff as directed; perform office duties (e.g. answer phones, collect, deliver messages); attend staff meetings, training and workshops; perform other related duties as requested

REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma or equivalent and demonstrate experience and/or interest in working with young children or equivalent combination of experience and/or education; transportation and valid State of Ohio Driver’s License, as position requires occasional travel to sites for assignment coverage, training and workshops; computer literacy; post-employment physical and criminal background checks conducted

HIRE Rate

$14.52 per hour / $1,161.60 Bi-weekly & $15.02 per hour / $1,201.60 following successful completion of 6-month probation (Pay Level 6)

CLASSIFICATION/SCHEDULE

Regular, Full-time, Non-Exempt, 11-month and 9-month work schedules (Paid Winter & Spring Breaks)

SITE ASSIGNMENT

Worksites are located throughout Summit County and assignments are based on program needs and subject to change during the course of employment
