Job Summary

In accordance with established program standards, state and federal regulations, work with young children, including children with special needs, ages 3 to 5 and carryout developmentally/age appropriate activities that support school readiness. Responsibilities include: provide a safe, healthy and compliant environment for supervision, development and learning; establish and implement daily lesson plan; prepare and implement age-appropriate developmental experiences and school readiness learning activities; supervise children in the classroom and other learning areas/spaces; implement activities specified on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for children with special needs; conduct developmental screenings, parent-teacher conferences and home visits; promote parent involvement in the classroom and/or center through implementation of center activities and parent meetings; track and report parent volunteer and in-kind hours/donations; conduct inventory of classroom equipment and supplies; maintain current recordkeeping compliant with program procedures; attend staff meetings, training and workshops; perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

Minimum, 4-Year degree (Associate) in Early Childhood Education (ECE) /Child Development and two (2) years demonstrated experience working with young children; must have a valid State of Ohio Driver’s License and transportation (some travel required for home visits, training and getting to/from assigned worksite located across the Summit County area); Summit County Residency required within 12 months of hire; computer literacy; criminal background checks conducted.

Pay Rate

$14.20 p/hr., Pay Level 8 (2-Year Degree, ECE/Child Development)
$15.63 p/hr., Pay Level 9 (4-Year Degree, ECE/Child Development)

Child Development Centers are located throughout Summit County. Worksite assignments are based on program needs and subject to change during the course of employment.
